Good morning,
Here’s your Friday edition of Asia AI News.
With the cancellation of the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona late Wednesday, it has become clear to all that the coronavirus is having a significant impact on global business outside of Asia. This is unlikely to be the last global event cancelled or postponed due to the virus crisis.
Meanwhile, startup news and venture capital announcements were few and far between around most of Asia, with more news announcements going ahead as normal in India compared with anywhere else.
Looks like we’re in for, at least, a few more weeks of the same.
In the US, moves against Huawei are continuing to play out with the Pentagon seemingly backtracking on statements made during the past few weeks about not supporting more government restrictions on Huawei 5G - this week it is being reported that the Pentagon will back new restrictions.
TGIF! Have a good weekend!
