Good morning,
Here’s your Tuesday edition of Asia AI News!
Not a lot of news today, but some interesting stories nonetheless.
NASSCOM, ICRIER and Google released a new report yesterday on the “Implications of AI on the Indian Economy”. You can read the full report via NASSCOM’s website here (no download available).
Also, scroll down to read about the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s new Hang Seng Tech Index; why Huawei may not be so easy to rip out of Western telecom networks; and how geopolitics may affect China’s tech giants.
Meanwhile, if you don’t receive Jeff Ding’s excellent China AI newsletter, then I should mention that yesterday he shared a translation of Tencent’s 2020 AI whitepaper shared during WAIC 2020 a couple of weeks ago.
The whitepaper provides a glimpse into Tencent’s thinking about AI and how it will become ubiquitous. The five chapters provide a Tencent view on the macro-environment, technical research, AI applications in combatting Covid, new innovations for the economy, and institutional safeguards.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
