Good morning
Here’s your Thursday edition of Asia AI News!
Not a great deal of AI news today. However, our top story today is the new ‘Global AI Talent Tracker’ research from MacroPolo, an in-house think tank of the Paulson Institute, The report aims to assess the current state of international competition for AI research talent, finding (to noone’s surprise) that China is a major source of AI research talent.
The key finding in MacroPolo’s research confirms what many tech leaders have said all along, that the big lead that the United States has in AI research is built on importing researchers. More than two-thirds of top-tier AI researchers working in the U.S. having received undergraduate degrees in other countries, with China as the largest source of top-tier researchers.
Scroll down for this and a few other stories.
Have a great day and stay safe!
