Good morning
A few deals to share today, including Thailand’s Pomelo Fashion raising $52 million in a Series C funding to pay for more technology development to fuel its expansion across Asia. Also San Francisco-based Atomwise AI drug discovery firm is going to jointly develop new drugs with Jiangsu-based Hansoh Pharma.
However, the biggest investment news is from Swiss engineering giant ABB, which has started building its 67,000-square metre robotics manufacturing and research facility in Kangqiao, Shanghai.
And, whilst I have your attention, I’ve just set-up a new Linkedin Group called Asia AI Networkers and you are all invited to join. As I write this I imagine your eyes rolling as you think ‘not another Linkedin group!’ So, let me take a moment to explain why I’ve set this up.
I started Asia AI News a couple of months ago now and have started to get consultants, public sector professionals, R&D centres, big tech firms, VCs and startups opt-in to the email list. However, as a subscriber, you don’t know who else has subscribed and you have no means to network with other subscribers, despite sharing a common interest in AI, emerging technologies and the Asia Pacific region.
Thus, I hope that the new Linkedin group will allow subscribers that are keen to network, connect with other, whilst respecting the privacy of those that would rather remain anonymous. I also hope that the Linkedin Group will prove useful to share content that is better presented via Linkedin, such as video and audio, plus reports and research documents when available.
Have a great Friday! TGIF!
